The first S is for ‘stock’, and at Francis Kirk we’ve invested in storage and logistics to ensure we’ve got plenty of it available here in the UK – you won’t have to wait for it to arrive from somewhere else.

Our 24,000 square foot warehouse in Manchester is a massive facility that enables us to carry the volume of products required by even our biggest customers.  Our additional warehouses, both nationally and internationally, ensure resilient supply.

The outcome of this arrangement is that you won’t struggle to get stock from us, because it’s already here waiting for you. This helps you fulfil your own orders and complete your own projects and contracts quicker - which benefits you financially.

It’s a crucial point, because supply chain interruption causes, according to research from the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), increased cost of working, loss of revenue, loss of productivity, and loss of customers.  All of which adds up, according to additional research, to a whopping £12 billion bill per year!

Another way we optimise stock availability is by commissioning the manufacture of many of our products ourselves.

This keeps us close to the quality control process (our history of manufacturing goes back over 150 years, so as far as we’re concerned product quality must be guaranteed).

It also gives us greater influence over volumes, timings, and shipping, so we know exactly when we’ll have the products in our warehouses in Manchester and elsewhere. And as with all our products, we can bypass the warehousing stage and ship directly to the customer if the order is urgent.

 

 

Service – the value behind the products

The second S in our approach stands for ‘service’, and this is where we really add value to your sourcing and logistics operations, to ensure you never run out of the products you need most.

Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is key, here. It enables us to take responsibility for managing and replenishing your product stock, even when that stock is on your own premises, freeing up time and resource for you to focus on your core business.

One of the ways we deliver this is through our Twin Bin solution, a storage system that we manage for you, where we replenish products as and when needed with no manual intervention from yourself.

After all, the best-engineered fasteners are no use to you if they run out!

 

The last S - the most important of all
